As a Process Engineer for the Commercial Applied Chillers Engineered to Order (ETO) team, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and approve price quotes for the ETO jobs. You will be required to use various tools and processes, working closely with the ETO manager, engineers, and designers to generate these quotes and develop timelines for delivering designs to production.
This role requires the ability to analyze technical specifications and understand project scopes to provide accurate pricing estimates and secure new projects and contracts. Clear communication is essential, as you will need to answer outstanding questions and identify or address gaps and hurdles that could compromise the execution and delivery of ETO requests. You must consider inputs from clients, product specifications, and the cost of solutions in your work.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the sales and marketing team to understand the customer requirements and objectives for the Commercial Applied Chillers Engineered to Order (ETO) jobs.
Collaborate with engineering and design team to analyze technical specifications, requirements, and project scopes to accurately assess costing and lead time for each ETO request.
Utilize cost estimation tools and methodologies to determine cost breakdown of each project component, considering variables such as production processes, materials, and labor.
Develop and approve quotations for ETO jobs in SAP, working with cross-functional teams.
Maintain accurate records of all quotations, pricing details, and communication with vendors and cross-functional teams to provide a comprehensive overview of the quoting process.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline the quotation process, enhance accuracy, and improve response time.
Address customer inquiries and clarifications regarding quotations, providing timely and accurate information to support the sales process.
Review of engineering CAD models, drawings, and bill of material structures using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
Communicate effectively across functions to confirm the feasibility, costing, and lead times of ETO requests, ensuring alignment in engineering, design, component sourcing, and manufacturing.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing
5+ years of experience in a commercial manufacturing environment
1+ years of experience with SAP
2+ years of experience with Product lifecycle management (PLM) tools
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
Excellent problem solving and advanced analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
General understanding of engineering design and drafting standards and procedures
Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and assembly methods preferred
Demonstrated detail orientation with superior investigative skills
