About the role

This position will provide sales and technical support to the Global Account Managers in the Global Projects & Accounts (GPA) team, producing proposals for fire and gas detection systems worldwide. The functions main responsibility will be to work out proposals for global projects linked to end users and EPC’s.

The position will actively contribute to develop and exercise processes for more effective proposal operations in the GPA team. The role will provide extended support to the sales resources actively working on securing new orders. Global support to other regions can be expected from time to time.

Close cooperation with Director and Account Managers is to be expected, as well as other global bid resources.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Global Systems Proposal Engineer you’ll be responsible for:

  • Perform detailed reviews of RFQ and enquiry documentation.

  • Prepare and write technical and commercial proposals in response to enquiries from customers.

  • Prepare designs and technical specifications for engineered fire and gas systems that meet customer specifications and requirements.

  • Co-ordinate with internal and external support to provide inputs into proposals.

  • Liaise with the sales team, commercial and legal contracts staff throughout the proposals process to ensure proposals are coherent and risk is understood throughout the business as the proposal nears successful completion.

  • Assist Account Managers and customers with technical queries.

  • Receive and process proposals request, in close cooperation with Account Managers.

  • Actively contribute to develop and exercise processes for more effective proposals.

  • Follow-up and participate in clarifications towards customers with Account Managers during the bidding phase. Take part of Bid Clarification Meetings (BCM) as needed.

  • Actively use Salesforce (SFDC) to maintain and keep up to date activities related to proposals.

  • Documentation supply to customers (standard doc and issuance of order specific documentation/declarations) for non-related projects PO’s.

  • According to our sales routine participate in handover from Sales to Project upon receiving PO.

  • Provide pre-sales support to customers and sales teams.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical certification in a relevant discipline. Prior experience can compensate for lack of formal degree.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in similar roles.

  • Experience with designing technical specifications as well as creating technical proposals.

  • Demonstrated experience with global EPC bidding processes will be considered a benefit.

  • Proven organizational skills with demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers worldwide

  • Forward thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Disposition to learn and enthusiastic attitude.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both internally and working with the customer, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the business

  • Work Prioritization, an ability to prioritize work and use own initiative for task completion

  • Experience with Autronica and Det-Tronics products and system integration practices or related industry

  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow-up on issues and progress to meet leadership expectations

  • Experience working cooperatively and respectfully on multicultural/cross-functional teams

  • Ability to travel, including on short notice (although not often required)
