About the role

The Design Engineer will develop and implement crucial design projects for New Program Development on Apple Rooftop products. Responsibilities include applying best design practices to mechanical and electrical systems, optimizing designs for manufacturability, serviceability, and cost, and implementing changes effectively. Key areas of focus include mechanical and electrical design, project management, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Business

  • Support release product engineering design for commercial manufacturing plants to engineering review.

  • Participate in the equipment design from the Engineering Concept through Manufacturing check sample.

  • Support and update the engineering drawings and bill of materials.

  • Support Engineering Check Samples (ECS), MCS (Manufacturing Check Samples) builds alongside the New Product Development team, capturing any design improvement or opportunity.

Technical

  • General design and drafting responsibilities involve creating layouts, sketches and drawings through 3D modeling and design engineering tools (Windchill).

  • Follow and adhere to products design Engineering specifications.

  • Maintain integrity in all engineer data and keep the engineering bill of materials updated.

  • Provide creative, innovative, comprehensive, and design-for-manufacture solutions. Support design concepts from conception to engineering documentation release that align with the objectives and business goals.

  • Design subsystems and components portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, and specified products using computer-aided design and engineering systems.

Management

  • Keep New Product Development metrics within objectives.

  • Plan and execute projects assigned to keep them as planned.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience performing duties, We can consider practitioners (year/middle year)

  • The Design Engineer is tasked to support on developing and implementing crucial design projects for New Program Development on Apply Rooftop products.

  • These projects span across diverse areas, including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical design. The candidate will apply best design practices to both mechanical and electromechanical systems.

  • Additionally, s/he will enhance and optimize design products, delving into important design considerations such as design for manufacturing, commonality, serviceability, and cost.

  • The candidate will leverage project best practices to implement changes in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Soft skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
